Your First Week: Optimization Tips
1. Take Better Product Photos
CraftBridge images are high-quality, but your brand photos are even better. Add lifestyle shots, close-ups, and lifestyle context. Show the product in use.
2. Customize Your Store Description
Edit product descriptions in Shopify to tell the maker's story. E.g., "Handthrown stoneware by Elena Marino, a third-generation potter from Portugal." This narrative drives conversion.
3. Set Your Markup Strategy
Example breakdown (ceramic mug):
- Wholesale cost: $10
- Your margin target: 55% profit
- Retail price: $22.22
- Your profit per sale: $12.22
4. Create a Product Collection
In Shopify, group products by category ("Ceramics," "Handmade Jewelry") or aesthetic ("Earthy Tones," "Modern Design"). Collections drive discovery and increase average order value.
5. Write Product Reviews (Fake It Till You Make It)
Encourage early customers to leave reviews. Offer a 10% discount code for verified purchases that include a review. Reviews build trust and ranking on CraftBridge.

Pro Tips for Success
- Start with 10 products. Test customer demand and supplier quality before scaling to 50+.
- Monitor supplier performance. Track on-time shipping and customer reviews. Suppliers with issues should be deprioritized.
- Rotate seasonal products. Add holiday items in September, summer goods in May. Seasonal variety keeps your store fresh.
- Build email list. Offer 10% off first order in exchange for email signup. Re-engage with "New Arrivals" emails monthly.
- Use Instagram/TikTok. Post unboxing videos, maker interviews, product storytelling. Artisan products are inherently social.
